Mammal Protection Act, Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act, Clean Air Act, the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL) and International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations.

Drew’s knowledge of complex maritime and commercial fishing regulations, and their application to real world scenarios allows him to offer clients practical guidance and promote effective business strategies. Drew is an active participant in the federal fisheries management process, providing written commentary and live testimony while working with clients to develop regulatory strategies. Dedicated to remaining at the forefront of the procedures, regulations, statutes and developments specific to this area of law.

Prior to being a partner at his former firm for 17 years, Drew served as Senior Counsel for the Oceans, Fisheries, and Coast Guard subcommittee of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation from 2001-2007. He directly served the

subcommittee chair, Senator Olympia Snowe (R-ME) the entire time he was on the staff and worked with Senator John McCain (R-AZ) and Senator Ted Stevens (R-AK), when they were chairs of the full committee. During his time on the committee, he was one of the

principal staffers who worked on the last reauthorization of the Magnuson Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act. He was also actively involved in the passage of several Coast Guard reauthorizations and numerous other maritime related pieces of

legislation.

One of the few attorneys who focuses exclusively on this specialized area of the law, Drew

has forged lasting relationships with agency and industry professionals, which enables him

to build consensus between industry, government and NGO stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes for his clients.

A skilled communicator, effective negotiator and highly adept consensus builder, Drew consistently anticipates the potential legal and regulatory roadblocks that his clients face. His analytical skills and creativity are supported by proven oral and written skills, honed
